Many of the Cadets in our division have went on summer trainings or TWT's
here is a list of some of the trainings our cadets have attended and a short
story written by them on their experience.

ENS McGarry
In March 2001 ENS Mathis and myself, as NL Committee
Chairperson, were given approval from National to form a USNSCC
unit
named Ghostriders Squadron VF-142.
In Sept of 2003
I
became an Instructor due to the need of a female
adult leader for female youth to participate and continue
until
today.
My contribution to the unit consists of sewing, driving and the
coordination of social activities and the June Award Ceremony.
It
has been my pleasure to be a part of such a special group of
young people and adults who care
about their future and the
future of the United States.

I am PO2 Wagrowski, I joined in September 2005. I
joined the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets Corps because it looked like an awsome program
that would help ready me for my future career and for building leadership
skills. I joined Ghostriders Squadron because its the best unit out there.
I've been to many different trainings such as Boot camp, Seamanship, Airman,
Petty Officer Leadership Academy, Medical, Marksmanship, Scuba, and I also had
the chance of being a staff cadet at boot camp. Boot camp was fun but
challenging at the same time, I met alot of friends there. Seamanship was
fun it was on the Manatra, while on this training is when I earned the
Distinguished Service Ribbon, this ribbon is for cadets or officers who save
someone's life while not putting your life at danger, it is the third highest
awards in the U. S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps. While at airman down in Texas I met
alot of cool people I was able to help put a engine back together on a C-130 and
I also helped with taking an engine off of a C-130, also while I was there we
went on a flight in a C-40 to California. At POLA/ Petty Officer Leadership
Academy, I went to California for a week on my Christmas vacation I stayed on an
USS BONHOMME RICHARD LHD-6 a LHD is a Landing Helicopter Docking, it is also an
amphibious war ship. I went to Great Lakes Naval Base for Medical training
while there I learned how to draw blood, give I.V.s, I also learned CPR, The
best of all was FMF day the day we were on the beach with marines making us work
out super hard.
With Ghostriders Squadron I've been to marksmanship training and
also SCUBA training. I plan to be an officer in the Navy but I don't know
exactly what I want to do that is why I am taking advantage of all these
training opportunity's, so you should do the same!!!"

My name is PO1 Mike Bellavia and I joined up in June of
2005 as a Sophomore. After just over a year in the Corps, I became the Lead
Petty Officer for the Ghostriders Squadron. I've always wanted to go into the
military after college so I figured this would be a great way to get a
jump start and experience life in the military as much as I could before I had
to make any major decisions. Some of my favorite experiences on SummerTrainings
include working in different flightlines. I've been to both NAS Ft. Worth and
NAS Jax, and I have directed everything from S-3B Vikings, KC-130 Hercules',
F-16 Vipers, T-38 Talons, C-40 Clippers, and C-21's. Sometimes it can take as
long as an hour from the time you crank the APU to the salute you give to the
pilot as he taxis off, but for every second,
your adrenaline is pumping. After I graduate from Geneva High School in May of
2008, I plan on attending college at Embry-Riddle Aerospace University in
Daytona Beach, Florida. While there, I will be participating in the NROTC
program and will the join either the Marine Corps or Navy and become a heavy-helo
pilot. Everything that I have learned thus far in the Sea Cadets has applied to
more than just my military life. Whether it be projects in school or team
sports,
leadership skills are by far the most important trait to walk away with.
